The larger and more complex that system-on-chip (SoC) designs grow, the more verification dominates the development process. Verification is the process from the elecronic systems development cycle that proves and validates the functionality of the system as of the specification of the design operation. This series of four articles at EEtimes is for practicing engineers who would like to know more about the verification challenges and its current innovative methodologies.

Design contests seek EE student submissions

Two upcoming
conferences are running design contests aimed at recognizing and giving
exposure to work done worldwide by university students. The Design
Automation Conference (DAC) is repeating a recurring event, while the
IEEE International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM '04), set for
Dec. 6 " 8 in Tunisia, is co-sponsoring a new one.
